The sheer waste of paper is horrifying, jenzarina, and I always find a mistake in my submissions so I find i'm printing out new copies each time, rather than resending out old, rejected, copies.
Unfortunately, most UK agents don't respond by email in case disgruntled rejected writers spam their inbox.

It's entirely acceptable to correct tiny mistakes neatly by hand - a missing letter, or a comma, say.
I think rather than (or as well as) beaming the desire to do email (and, let's face it, computers aren't without their un-green aspects) we should go back to being prepared to send out second-hand manuscripts. Why not? If it was good enough for all those authors from the invention of the typewriter to - what, 1985? - then it ought to be good enough for us.
