Can you possibly use Lulu.com services for submission purposes when sending sample chapters to agents/publishers? I'm not talking about sending a whole book to them, but they do have an option to print A4 size with different bindings. I'm wondering if I could use that for the purpose of submitting my sample chapters to publishers. Does anyone know if you can do that?

No, don't. Agents have very specific requirements when it comes to submission layouts, so I think it would be a waste of time and money printing your opening chapters off on Lulu.

However, if you have a reader willing to give it the once over, it can be easier to read the complete novel in book format, so, in that instance, I would be tempted to run off a few POD copies.

Just make sure yuo set it to 'private copy', so it's not listed in their 'shop'.
