I notice several literary agents' websites requesting a 'CV' as well as a synopsis. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to create one? Presumably they'll be looking for personal details, writing experience, any experience of publication... does anyone have a template or suggestions?

They want to know how long you’ve been writing and what you’ve had published.

They don’t want to know how many GCSE’s you got or what jobs you’ve had unless it’s relevant to what you are writing. For instance if two authors submit a novel about life in an operating theatre and one of them happens to be a surgeon, guess which one will attract more interest.

    Hope this helps

Literally a listing of published books/short stories/journalism/non fiction, who published by, when. Same with TV/stage/film/radio, who directed and/or produced it, when, any awards or bursaries, residencies or competitions - of a certain standard- and work that's currently in development. Really clean, clear and simple is the absolute rule, and as Dee says, only use personal info if it's very relevant and a good marketing tool. Although this should go in the covering letter really rather than a CV, unless it's along the lines of, served in SAS for twenty years, or something.
