Do they email you? Or do they send a letter back with your partial? Or do they send a letter by itself? Or do they call you?
Just wondered.

My agent emailed, which I think is very common. Don't think they'd normally bother to return the partial.

It's been email every time for me, except for two occasions. My first agent wrote me a short letter requesting a meeting, but said that was because I hadn't put my phone number on the letter (doh); another agent used my SAE to write a letter requesting the full, and I think that's because they don't use email at all.
Are you being driven half-mad with the waiting?
-
I had emails too, but I think it just depends how the individual agent works.
-
Thanks, guys.

Not really, as have only one out there. But I am being driven half mad by not (yet) knowing what to do to the novel in order to send out more submissions!

It's always been an email request.

I've had one who DID send it back with the partial. That's why you should never throw away those brown envelopes, unopened! Even though they are probably not good news...
-
Yep, usually email, though I did get one phone call, which frightened me half to death!
-
Nice fright, though!

Thanks for asking this question Susie, I was wondering the same thing.

Hopefully, we will find out at some point for ourselves

Usually email. Be careful that it doesn't go straight into your Spam folder by mistake!
-
Ooh, Sibelius, thanks for bringing this up: I've never known where my Spam folder is. I am with Hotmail, and there's a 'Junk' email thing, but that's all. Any ideas?

As far as I remember I think Junk is equivalent to Spam for hotmail (?) Just check it regularly! You can usually click on a little button to say "not junk mail" if something important does end up in there, and then future communications should go straight to the inbox.

Thanks, Becky!
