The lovely people at the Review Island website have been kind enough to give my novel, "The Hit List" a 3 Palm Tree (out of 4) rating and have also likened my anti-hero, Jamie Chadwick to Patricia Highsmith's Mr Ripley!! (Not sure what the great P.H. might think though ...!)

I'm definitely most chuffed!

Well done, Anne. How are sales going? Are you thinking of submitting to agents and publishers now? We've seen examples of success stories this way round in non-fiction, I wonder if the same would be true for fiction.
Whatever the case, I wish you luck
Elspeth
Thanks, Elspeth! Sales are going pretty much as I expected - I've sold just over 80, and I anticipate being able to sell about 100, which I'll be happy with, to be honest. It won't make me any money but, by heck, it's fun and I'm learning a lot! - which I hope will stand me in good stead next year when I'm hoping to set up my own small imprint, under which I can produce more novels, poetry etc. It's a learning curve!
And no, I don't anticipate sending The Hit List out to commercial publishers/agents - it's already been round the houses and back in many early draft forms before finally "hitting" (sorry!) its present format (query? did I perhaps send it out too early??...) - and in any case, I'm now doing novel number 4, with number 2 being out with Saqi Books for consideration and number 3 being with those wonderful people, The Literary Consultancy, for advice/guidance. Hmm, onward and upward, as they say!
Much love

Congrats, and I wish you all the best with it. It must give you a buzz.
Well played!
Dave
Dear Dave - many thanks! I was quite buzzy this morning, but have come down to normal now after struggling with a short story that's not doing what I wanted it to do - if only I could remember what that was in the first place - doh!!!
Much love

Well done, Anne. Your reviewer's right - Jamie Chadwick does have a touch of the Ripleys about him! Good review too.
Dear Nell - many thanks! I think these days you can get "a touch of the Ripleys" seen to on the National Health, can't you?!!!
