    Hiya

I'm new hear but have been reading your threads with great interest. There's lots to be learned from them.

What I'm wondering is how one would go about being published under a pseudonym?

I'm really embarrassed now - went and made a boo-boo of a simple word like here!

Hi Sharon and welcome to WW.

I would imagine you simply tell the agent or publisher when you approach them. Submit your work under your pseudonym but make sure your given name is on the title page and covering letter.

Do you have an agent? Are you sending work out?

I wouldn’t worry too much about it if you’re new to writing. Getting published is, in itself, a mighty big hurdle.

    Good luck.

    Dee.

    Hi Dioritt,

    Hi, and welcome to WriteWords.

The most difficult part of your question to achieve is to find a publisher who wants to publish you! The rest's easy. If you intend to use a pseudonym you submit work under the name you've chosen. Thus it will appear in the header or footer on every sheet of your manuscript along with the page number and title of the book. Your real name will appear on the cover sheet of the manuscript along with your pen name like this:

    Title of novel

    word count

    Dioritt (Pseudonym)

Real name, address, telephone number, email address

(Pseudonym in brackets after the chosen name makes the situation clear.)

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. You've both been very helpful.

I realise that actually finding somebody who's willing to publish my work is going to be the biggest problem but I like to know everything that might happen before the event, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for outlining the cover sheet, Nell. I've copied that and added it to my notes for future reference

    Hi ~Sharon,

Are you, perchance, the alter ego of the extremely literate Eyeball?

    Adele.

I am, I can assure you, nothing but my own alter ego.

Not that that's nothing, but you know what I mean.
