I found this video whilst trawling around. For anyone that is looking for an agent, it is well worth a look. here are some good comments from authors as well.
Really interesting, thanks, Stefland. I liked Mark Billingham's idea of checking out whether the agent you're considering feels like a good person to have on your side when things are going badly. Because there'll always be a moment when they are, even, presumably, if it's just that your sixth film deal falls through... A really good thing to think about.
Funny, I had to struggle to try to ignore that aspect - what's sultry got to do with authors finding agents, I thought. Still, at least it wasn't the one who used to leap into helicopters although the voice is similar.
Mariella's not a bad arts journalist - either you like the voice or you hate it, I guess, but when she did the arts show on R2 it was excellent. Doesn't she still do a booky one on R4?
Yes, according to websites she is an arts presenter and has written a book called Dear Mariella: A Guide to Twenty first Century Living
No wonder I was mixing her up with the helicopter one, though, a great favourite with my first husband. I found this under 'Biography' on another website.
'Brief marriage to singer turned TV presenter turned poet Richard Jobson (1979-1983/84). Affairs with showbiz producer Nick Allott, was accused "of pinching Anneka Rice’s husband", and has been rumoured to have dated George Clooney and Chris Evans.'
