    Hi Guys

Am so confused, I hoped some of you might be able to help.

I am currently finishing off a novel and am putting together my synopsis. My problem is, my novel has a twist at the end. Do I reveal this in the synopsis? Or do I simply imply that all might not be as first appears...?

    I hope that makes sense!

    Many thanks

    Eve

    Yes!
The most common mistake in submiting synopsises to Agents is not including the ending (I've been just as guilty of that). And don't skimp on the ending.

We have a Synopsis & Outline Group, Eve, if you'd like a fresh pair if eyes to give it the once over before sending it out.

    Yes might be an idea
I have two versions - one is one page but doesn't reveal the twist. The other is two pages, more deatiled and does
Been wondering which one would be best..

Well, the one page version should also reveal the twist, but you can upload either on the forum. Although if you upload the two page one you risk getting a lot of 'delete this unnecessary detail' comments

As for which one to send to the agents, the general concensus of opinion is the shorter the better. Although, on a purely pragmatic note, it's useful to have two versions because if you find your mss coming back by return post you know to try the other one.

Agree with Naomi; the point of a synopsis is to show that you can structure a story , and the agents can't see that if you leave the ending out! I know it feels like you're flashing your knickers too early in the evening, so to speak, but it is necessary.

I'd like to add that Naomi is a synopsis god.

Lol, Cherys , synopsis gob, maybe. One day I might even be able to do my own, if I keep practicing on everyone elses.
