Yes my piece was based on the RLG from the previous month and certainly no spoof.
Best of luck Thirteen and may your association with WW be a productive one.

Well Dee, you asked if there might be anyone they rejected. I sent them two stories on 19th June. I sent them again. I sent one of them a third time. I wrote to them. I checked that my email system was working. So how about that for a rejection?
I've mentally withdrawn them and sent the same two stories to other publishers, and got an email straight back from one of them, an automatic email, saying thanks, and they'd respond in around 8 weeks. So I feel fine now.

That's not good, Becca. You should at least have had an acknowledgement.
Or maybe I just struck lucky.

Dee, I'm glad that you replied to that because I've decided it's got to be my fault, not because I'm some martyr, (can that really be the right spelling?), but because I think there could still be something wrong with my emailing system. These men have put together a mag, they're fragile and are depending on a lot of unknowable things,- thingys. I've always promoted the idea that small press and aspiring, (asprin? writers), need each other, so why am I whinging? I'm going to shoot myself in the foot right now. Irrespective of what happens next regarding them and me, we should support them anyway. Good that they found us, we're a canny bunch of writers, they found us, and they've got energetic material for the beginnings of their mag. It doesn't matter if their beginnings look crude. I'll tell you what though, LOL, if I discover that the problem is not with my system, I'll retract this entire statement, and sob bitterly, and long.

I think this is what is known as a "win win" partnership. Thirteen get a supply of good quality copy and WW members get another outlet for their work.
(I've always hated that phrase)

That's true Bill. I'm over my frot now, I've got two conflicting systems on my puter, we worked it out this weekend. So I'm having a bloke come and sort things out soon. It made me realise just how many little things were wrong with my puter. So, I'm embarrassed that I thought it was 13 being careless, I mean really embarrassed. I hope to live this down.

'frot'
What a wonderful word, Becca.

Did you realise that the winning stories from "thirteen" magazine are written by the editor?
No, me neither. Just made that up.
This thread was so more interesting when we didn't think they were reading it. Bring back the conspiracy stuff, it was top.

Yes, I thought so too. Becca, n'est pas seulement en frot, ou est Elspeth et les frotteurs?

Dee, I did get into a big frot for a while. What was that wonderful word in 'The Smell of Mushrooms', d'you remember?
Sion, you may have to translate, I thought it could have mean't I'm not alone in frotism. I do recall something about frotting, from some time back.

sounds a bit saucy!

Colin, Frot's not in my dictionary, but the words which would surround it if it was, go like this, 'frolicsome front frost froth and frown, frowsty..' Seems to me a whole range of strange images of a girl who starts young and flirty and ends up an 'old maid,' to use a horrid expression.
Becca.

Isn't 'frotage' some kind of sexual act?
Kick me if I'm wrong.

I'm sure I got into trouble at school once, for what the headmistress described as, 'frotting with a female in the playing fields during lunch break.'
It was all pretty innocent though. I was about ten I think.

Becca, the word you're thinking about was
spilth
