Thanks Sharon! I forgot to do conscious deep breathing
However, I did have a white wine spritzer first (enough alcohol to relax me, but not so much that I'd fall off the stage), and also the knowledge of what a big deal it was for one of my friends to go to Battersea (as we travelled there in our taxi, she said, "It has all the bad bits of London - the traffic, the polution, too many people etc - but none of the glamour" - it's hard to disagree with that) was enough for me to feel that I must not let her down.
I'm now feeling strangely adrift as that is over, I've finished the draft of my novel (and I've found out, by accident, that the agent who asked for the opening chapters in the middle of May has gone on hols until the end of the month) and Wimbledon is but a memory. However, school on Monday to learn Chinese will provide a new focus.
Adele.
