If anyone is in London this Friday, 9th July, and feels like a bit of a laugh, please come along to see me make a complete fool of myself, performing a little poem that some of you know. Kick-off is at 9pm at the cafe of the Battersea Arts Centre on Lavender Hill.
Tickets are less than a fiver, and seasoned artistes, with irrestistable names like Jared Louche, and Melted Demerara will also be performing. This is my debut, though.
I can't believe I'm doing this!!!

Adele. <Added>P.S. thanks again to Miffle for suggesting that I enter my poem - I need something new to do on Friday nights now that Sex & The City has finished!

Hey!!!
Good on yer, Adele! Can't make it from the northern climes of Halifax but I'll be there in spirit.
Good luck.

Nice, Adele. I hope they take pics of the event and post em on the site. If not, I'll have to hire an outside freelance photographer to do the work.

Adele
travel from the Forest requires several months preparation and notice, visas and passports etc foreign money and innoculations so I am afraid I wont be able to make it either
and now you have joined the ranks of performers

Adam, I'm not very photogenic - I look better in real life (but still nothing like Miss Sharapova).
David, thanks for the good wishes and again for your tips - I've been studying them hard!
I think there will be lots of men in frocks - I am very nervous!
Adele.
-
Adele, all the best of luck, and remember to enjoy yourself- can't be there because have play on in Cambridge, but have a ball- BAC is a great venue and you're in good company there!
-
Well done Adele - I'll be there in spirit.
-
Anna and Nell, many thanks for the good wishes. And Anna, good luck with your play!
Actually, I'm not sure that any of my friends are coming either - everyone seems to have prior engagements . Oh well, at least no one I know will see me playing the fool.
-
Well done, Adele. Go you! Let us know how it goes and just remember...Breeeaathhhhe Deeeeeeppppllllyyyyyyyyyy.

Thanks for the tip, Sharon. Yes, I must keep breathing from the diaphragm (Huh! huh! huh! huh! - that's me practising). You know, if I were wearing a business suit and making a presentation, I wouldn't be at all nervous; but the thought of performing in a sparkly dress turns my knees to jelly!

Sharon, I'm now thinking Oh F***!, Oh F***! Oh F***!
Jubbly, I know what you mean about venturing South of the River. But I did actually live there (twixt Clapham & Wandsworth commons) for a year (the things we do for love!) so hope my visa will still be valid. Thanks for the good wishes.
