  • Children`s picture story books - help!!
by fluffybunny at 14:19 on 09 November 2007
Hi I am new to this site. I have written a short children's story (picture book style)and have just started the research into how to get it published. Does anyone have any experience of good agents to send my work to, general advice etc etc!!! Hoping you can help - I have searched on this site a little but can't find anything specific on younger audiences (2-5). Any advise/comments/thoughts gratefully received!

Hi FLuffybunny. It mmight be worth joining the Writing for Young Children group and asking there. The only agent who springs to mind who deals solely with PBS is Celia Catchpole.

Sorry to be brief - and welcome to the site!

    Hi there.
Get yourself the Children's Writers and Artists Handbook - it has everything you need to know and the agents listed there are reputable.

The number of Agents specializing in Picture Books is not that high - especially when you subtract the ones currently not accepting submissions.
There are also a few small publishers who will accept unsolicited submissions without an agent. And if all else fails, send it direct to the larger publishers.
