    Hi all, before I disappear, and as a bit of a follow on from Terry's thread in the Lounge today, I wanted to flag up this Times article on Jonathan Franzen, who, in my view, is one of the very best contemporary novelists:

    One of the things I think this piece illustrates, is that if you are fundamentally a miserable glass-half-empty type of person, then worldly success is unlikely to change that.
