Have just finished watching possibly one of the most disturbing films I have ever seen. Hostel by Eli Roth is not just sickening because the gore factor is ratcheted up but because the possibility that such things could conceivably take place.

Although it's most likely nonsense this film is supposed to have been inspired by a website that advertised murder vacations, basically $10000 to execute someone.

Totally horrific but now I have a thousand ideas in my head about possible stories involving such a 'business'.

You know I totally forgot to finish typing this post.

My brother has been to various places where for a fee you can have your way with cattle and your choice of handgun/machinegun/rpg.

Has anyone comes across any other stories like this?

Sorry I've come to this so late Geoff, but I heard something totally SICKENING a couple of years back. Apparently, exclusively, for the Very rich (obviously bored, totally mental and in need of extermination) for about 300'000 quid you are helicoptored in to shoot POLAR BEARS. The person who told me this swears blind that someone we both know (and I can't stand) actually partook in this activity with 'mates'. More money than bloody sense and I can only hope it was 'fictional' but somehow can't comprehend anyone wishing to make up a story so repulsive?!

    Alas Amiria,

It's all too real as www.polarbearhunting.net demonstrates.

As much as I despise such activities it's by no means news to me that these things go on. It seems for a price you can pretty much hunt anything you want. But my real question was has anyone come across any stories where the prey has been human?

I've just had a look at that link, Geoff, and it's turned my stomach. Fucking bastards. What right do they have to kill for fun? I have this issue with all hunting, but, anyway, You get the point.

To answer your question, I've never heard any evidence of 'human prey.' And I'd suppose that even if such a thing exists then it's not something you'd be able to find out about very easily at all. Think it'd be much more fun to make it up - tehn it can be exactly how you want it.

    Nik.

    Hi Nik,

I agree with you whole heartedly about the hunting.

I remember a few years ago reading about an american serial killer who would abduct people and then drive them out into the wilderness before setting them free so he could hunt them down.

The film I mentioned is set in eastern Europe and involves a 'torture factory' where for a fee you can do just about anything you want to a national of your choice. Apparently it's supposed to based on true events.

In a world as sick as ours I actually find it easy to believe that this kind of practice occurs somewhere. Though as you suggest such things would be very difficult to get more information on for the obvious reasons.

It is sad, isn't it. And it wouldn't surprise me if that sort of thing went on somewhere either.

Do you think there could be an element of The Blair Witch with this? The whole suggestion that it kinda loosely did happen, when in fact, the writer(s) have no proof whatever that it did. Being fair it sounds like a great idea for a story though.

Might be worth having a search the wires' archives. As you say, one can believe this kind of thing could happen. What a bloody world, hey!

I CANNOT believe that link Geoff! I thought people that sunk that low would want to keep quiet about it, not advertise it on the bloody net! As for 'torture' factories for humans! What the hell is the world coming too? If you are going to seriously research evidence that sickos like this exist and carry out these practises, for Gods sake be bloody careful . People who would get involved with stuff like that are obviously evil and total lunatics.
