Ok, I can take Ian McKellen as well,(calm down, Dee).
Patrick and Ian - two superb voices. Not to mention other attractions.
Stephen Fry would be good, but ....I wonder if he's too intimidating? He's so bloody clever and witty, if you were trying to get ordinary folk involved, I for one, would find him a bit scary!
Maybe if I could sit on Patrick's knee and wrap my arms tight around him, I wouldn't be scared...right, so Stephen Fry's in as well, then.

Oh tc...your last sentence made me spew coffee all over my son (good thing it had sat undrunk for an hour and was ice cold). Funnily enough...he was sitting on my lap at the time. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't a 25 year old.
Nahed

Does he look like Patrick at all?
-
I pity the 25 year old that looks like Patrick Stewart.
-
Hey I think we’re getting somewhere here…
Patrick’s voice, Ian’s flamboyance, Stephen’s wit, Nahed’s son’s 25 year old body (I think she’s pulling our plonkers guys
) and we’ve created our very own… somebody remind me what the hell we’re discussing…
-
I don't. The looks anbd poise of the god; the energy of youth; and enthusiasm of a puppy...did I die and get to heaven and no-one's told me?

And, ahem, what books would they be choosing? My choices would be Richard Jobson, Kathy Burke, Mark Lawson, maybe... and books? Jackie Kay, anything by her...she needs to be much more acclaimed than she is. Same goes for Ali Smith. Any other ideas, before we descend into a lather of whipped cream and Patrick Stewart mania?

errr...
*runs away*

In the children's book category we would have to include David Almond. Yes, I know he does very nicely as it is but he is such a brilliant writer. Adele Geras. William Nicholson. Cornelia Funke. Thinking of more........
-
whipped cream and Patrick Stewart? Make it so (did you see what I did there? Proud of myself now!0
Never read it but Sucking Sherbet Lemons seems appropriate!
Okay seriously...probably any Tales of the City books, Liz Jensen, Alan Warner, Andrey Kurkov and Nell Grey (to plug one of our own)...
-
Well, and why not? That would be part of our agenda, surely? Of course, top of the list would be a Writewords anthology, that goes without saying...
-
And of course you (Anna), if you write another novel. Not sure they can do the same for plays. Which brings up a question: do people read plays for pleasure? I can't and I think that may make me a bad person
-
The Lovely Bones and After You'd Gone
Both, I think in the review section.
Dee.
-
Depends really what pleasure you're looking to get from it...
...
Shoot me, shoot me now.

...and Barbara Trapido, I really like Barbara Trapido.
