  • Programme on Memory - lots of ideas for plots!

Fascinating prog on the radio about whether we shape memories or vice cersa, and how the "authorised version" of a recalled event can alter detail. One of the guests was a writer. Not only was it interesting to listen to how she uses memories in her novels, I was getting loads of plot ideas from the scientific information the psychologist was giving about how memory works. There's mention of a website where people can post their own memories too - lots of inspiration there too, I should imagine!

It's available as a Listen Again for anyone who's interested

Did anyone watch that fascinating documentary recently, about the heart being neurologically linked to the brain and they think this explains why some heart transplant patients start experiencing memories which belonged to the donor, - because some memories are physically and neurologically laid down in heart tissue.

It gives a whole new meaning to the importance of the heart as an organ, and why, throughout the ages, the heart has been such an important symbol.

Gosh, I wish I'd seen that.

I find tv and radio really inspiring - there seem to be plot ideas leaking out of them all the time.

Reminds me of genetic memory, i.e., can memory be passed on.

That's astounding, casey, I really wish i'd seen that.
Watched half of the documentary on Apollo 11 last night - missed the bit where they showed the UFOs they filmed, though.
