That's fascinating, Dee. Where do you get it from? I assume the local stationers won't stock it. I quite fancy giving that a bash.

    Lol Sibs.

    Hi Nik

I would suggest you have a look in your local Alternative shop or anywhere where they sell crystals.

Hmm, interesting Dee. Do you need to do anything to activate it or cleanse it periodically.

    Hi Dee

A lot of people think I'm Gaga, can come in handy at times.

If you believe in it, it will work, is my view. I got mine from a stall in a flea market, but you can get pieces from any shop that sells crystals/minerals/semi-precious stones. Mine is a chunk, but you can get them tumbled if you prefer. Choose carefully. Find one that feels right. When I first picked mine up I wouldn’t even hand it back to the stallholder to put it in a bag!

Prosp, I didn’t need to do anything to activate mine, because I connected with it the minute I picked it up. So far, I haven’t felt the need to cleanse it – I've had it about three years now – but if I did, I’d bury it in salt for 24 hours.

My daghter, when she was a lot smaller, came home from school to say she'd forgotten a spoon to eat her yogurt with but it didn't matter because her friend - another Emma - had a spare one. This struck me as being so bizarre - why would you happen to have a spare spoon - that she has since been known by me as Two-spoons. So, Emma, you might be stuck with Two-Desks!

Now I know what my username should be - thanks, guys!

On the other hand, sometimes all that happens with more space is that you fill it... At the moment they're both ankle-deep - one with thirty-odd books for the new novel that I've got no more shelves for, and one with admin I've got no energy for.

'A tidy desk is evidence of a sick mind'

Well, it's probably no surprise to my readers, but I'm pleased to report that I have a very sick mind indeed!

I keep everything in neat folders, colour coded with nice little stickers on. The one pasted with gothic lettering is for the fantasy stuff, the one with the big endangered Australian frog, poetry. The folders are expanding, but at least they are colourful, and anarchic on the outside. Inside, everything is recorded - every rejection letter, every acceptance. I have a tidy row of my favourite books across my desk (none of which are my own - yet), and a large framed picture of James Dean looks down over all with a vaguely worried smile.

I'm with Emma Two-Desks. One for boring stuff- admin, etc- one for creative, which is empty, because I have all my pics, notes, ideas etc on a pinboard above that desk, so the deskspace itself feels enticingly empty and waiting to be created upon... or something like that.

Thing is - I can't read a map to save my life! Is there a disability tag for this, because, seriously, I can't find my way out of a paper bag. Fortunately I have a tongue in my head and am able to strike up conversations so I can ask for directions. The downside is I can't write stories set in exteriors. A bit limiting, but I usually stick to the three places I know well.

Interesting stuff about the crystal Dee, I once had a similar experience with a copper bracelet I bought at Avebury. But the guy who made it was seriously connected. There was power there and then some.
