One of my characters lives in Abingdon and gets sectioned, and I wanted to know which psychiatric inpatient hospital he would be likely to be taken to. I was thinking Fairmile but it appears to have closed! Does anyone know?

Thanks, but I wanted authenticity. Place is important in my novel. I have now found out, though - Warneford in Oxford, if anyone cares...

So glad to hear Fairmile has closed. I visited someone there once & it was awful. The idea that anyone could actually recover from a mental illness in that hellish environment was almost laughable.

Yes, Warneford is right. The Fairmile closed and they've built some weird houses there that no one wants to buy.
