Sorry to disagree, but I don't think we disagree! Yes, the purpose is to get something special on to paper, and I accept what I think you mean by this not coming through thinking about it. What I mean by 'thinking', though, isn't an intellectual analysis approach, but more finding ways for creative vision to get into one's mind. And for some people, this happens better through - well, in my case, lying on the floor (not kipping, of course), than by bashing away at a keyboard. Bashing can work, but I have to make sure that I'm leaving spaces between the out-spill for something else to appear.

OK, we definitely don't disagree!
Oh dear, everyone else is right this week! I've just spent too much time in front of computers lately and it's fried my brain. I just went to write an e-mail and wanted to italicise something and I started to type and instead of just clicking the 'i' button.
I also seem to have an obsession with the subconscious as this is about the 6th conversation I've had about it!
