Hi Folks,
I've been roped in last minute to run some Drama workshops next week for a summer school. So far I have some great games lined up, but could do with some help on the Inspirationa Box I'm creating to assist the kids in their impro and devised work. I thought it might be good fun (and quite applicable to writing) if maybe some of you would like to offer your ideas?
Below is what I've got so far, please add your own!
(Worth noting, the age group is 8 - 14yrs).
Inspiration Box
Emotion
Greed, anger, hate, jealousy, sorrow, grief, fear, nervous, excitement, joy, anticipation, love, teasing.
Paired Characters
Husband/Wife, Doctor/Patient, Grandparent/Child, Teacher/Bully, Policeman/Thief, Murderer/Victim, Prime Minister/Secret Agent, Vicar/Worshipper.
Situation
There is only one slice of cake left on the table, and you both want it.
One person is in the bathroom and the other is desperate for the loo.
You are both waiting in line for a bus, it is running late.
A Secret to Tell
You have run over the other person’s cat.
You want the other person to marry you.
You’re leaving the country forever.
The other person has bad breath.
We did a fun one recently on the creative writing course: There are 3 sets of cards: one with characters, one with objects and the third with a setting/place. Each person takes one card from each set and uses it to write a story: eg,
Letter, thief, museum.
Umbrella, soldier, hotel.
etc.
