Was it Stephen King you were thinking of, Emma?

From 'On Writing', about the importance of making a regular routine for writing:

Your job is to make sure the muse knows where you're going to be every day from nine 'til noon or seven 'til three. If he does know, I assure you that sooner or later he'll start showing up, chomping his cigar and making his magic'.

    Very, very true.

Scary seaweed - yes, I know what you mean, Colin.

Chevalier, no I don't think it was King, - I think it was an American, though, and that quote is a great way of putting it.

I haven't read her book - sounded like so not my cup of tea - but I agree Rupert, I like her sense of humour. It must be weird having a real out-of-the-blue success like that.
And, disagreeing with Jem, it's lovely to see someone NOT painted and primped and polished up to the nines.

    Hi Emma,

I wanted to say that I didn't watch the video and haven't read the thread properly, just skimmed it, but I found the title of the thread inspiring and my productivity has soared as a result. It's a great mantra.
