Fascinating, and very true I'm sure. I can remember a stint I had to do in hospital when I was only six, and how it was made bearable by a daily visit from a librarian pushing a trolley of children's books. That was fifty years ago, so perhaps things are simply coming full circle!
For several years my mother had to make regular visits to a breast cancer clinic, so I spent a lot of time in the waiting room. They had hand-made posters of uplifting poetry on the wall, which I thought was wonderful.
