If you could have a really posh handbag which make would it be?

My DI is offered a hooky one, and is torn bewteen handing it in or giving it to his girlfriend for her birthday, but only for half a second - he really does need to patch up the relationship.

We're a bit secondhand in this household so don't have posh!

Louis Vuitton without a shadow of a doubt. A friend got one for Xmas and we all sat round it just looking - no touching allowed !

I'd forgotten about Louis Vuitton. I did look them up when I was researching for matching vanity and manicure sets but they didn't do those (another bit of the plot).

Someone elsewhere suggested Fendi or Jimmy Choo, I don't know how they'd know though. They all look pretty much the ticket.

I have never been very interested in handbags, but now I think I want a Predator one!

I've never felt grown-up enough to have a handbag.

The Birkin bag and the Kelly bag. Both by Hermès.

THE handbags. 'Pricey' doesn't even begin to describe it, though.

I've seen some $ prices for Hermes. Now I know we get a good £/$ rate but sheesh!

I know they're not the most expensive, but Radley bags seem incredibly popular atm and are not cheap. 100 to 120 for normal sized, and quite a lot more for the big ones. They have lots of lovely detail on them - applique leather pictures and designs - and come in lots of lovely colourways, and they have the little Radley dog tag on them.

Everyone I know seems to have coveted them in the last couple of years.

Radley did a really nice one that I wanted, with a Little cottage and flowers on it, with the dog in the garden bit, it was lovely, but I couldn't afford it. It was about £130 and I can't afford to spend that on a handbag

Yes, I've usually spent about 15-20 quid on a handbag before I wanted a Radley. I got my husband to buy it for me for Christmas. I've also got a Radley purse, which cost about 40 and I bought it one day when I was feeling fed up, which always makes me extravagant! The bag is black with multi bright coloured applique, and the purse is pink.

I know someone (not particularly rich!) who's got about 15 handbags and about half of those are Radley. But she's obsessed - like those people who buy millions of pairs of shoes. I expect she asks for them for presents every xmas/birthday.
