    Jacqueline / Lisa

I am always a little aprehensive that when I am trying to write a poem of reading something which peopel say may help me as I fear that I may end up just plagarising the otehr work so I tend to leave my poetry reading to non writng periods however I wonder

is there any merit in an excercise where we take say the first two lines or first stanza of a known work and see how memebrs end up finishing it with their own words?

    take care

    Go for it David!

Put it in the exercise forum. It's an exercise I've done before and the results were nicely surprising. Or you can give a well known piece of prose or poem and get people to cut it up and re-arrange the words - you wouldn't have to use all the words - just see where it goes.

    Cheers
