Yes but sod's law - the proofs for my first book are arriving tomorrow and I'm in Dublin all weekend so I'm going to have to take the proofs to Shropshire!

Actually, I'm only pretending to mind because it's madly exciting and I feel like a real writer now. There are such long periods of waiting between the various stages to publication that I was beginning to feel as if weren't really happening at all.
