Hmmm, I like 'A case of twice two' ;-)
And since we're on the topic of titles, I thought my "Hell hath no fury" for my thriller novel about a woman out on revenge was quite good, but it is not original. What are your thoughts on this one?

A good 'does what it says on the tin' type of title. I like it.
-
Hahaha, that one actually made me smile, now that I'm starting to realise that I'll have to review my personal deadline 'sigh'

I was thinking about first novel dying 'a reluctant death' and thought hmmm, possible title - for something. I seem to be collecting them at the moment - just have to think of the stories now...
Seems to me picking titles is a bit like clothes shopping - you see something gorgeous when you don't have cash or pretext to buy - but if you are actually looking there is nothing?

Hell Hath No Fury has a real pulp feel to it, to me. Which, I might add, is a very good thing in my book! (Or your book, in this case!)

Hey this is probably not the place to say but I'm very much enjoying your book so far, Roger. I particularly like the way you describe characters and the physical/behavioural aspects of people. I'm not into crime on the whole, but this added to the historical and the atmosphere makes your different for me.

Here's as good a place as any, I'd say! Thank you very much for that, Snowbell. I'm really pleased you're enjoying it. And thank you for buying it too!

Yes, I overcame my scruples about reading big beautiful books in the bath, and got into it last night. Enjoying it a lot.

Hell Hath No Fury
- Ran it past my husband last night and he thinks it would be a great title if taken literally. A book about a really boring Hell, all the characters stuck in some sort of infinite waiting room...
-
Thanks Emma! I only hope the book doesn't fall apart with all the steam.

I have to guiltily admit I did this too - and it's looking slightly less beautiful as a result.

I hope the glue holds up.

Sorry, I'm coming late to this. I'm forever revising the title of my book. It's some consolation that the pros have the same trouble sometimes.

I'm coming late to this too but am feeling the pain of title decisions at the moment. I usually get the title straight in my head before I start writing, and don't find them that hard, so it is more disturbing for me to be writing an untitled novel.
The central themes of the book are revenge, identity and loss; errrrm any ideas?! I did some quote searches but everything to do with revenge sounds rather melodramatic. I was toying with Wild Justice before I found out it was already a Wilbur Smith novel.
I would really like something to do with the identity issue, but am drawing a blank thus far. SO HARD!

Great list Murphy
<whisper> don't tell Emma that Meg Rosoff likes 'The Archaeology of Love'
