    I think the other reason for posting a kind-but-honest review is that it's helping to make the online reviewing culture something actually worth having.

    Every thoughtful and considered review is a teeny, tiny defence against the uselessness of the "this is the wurst book ive ever red" and the "this author is the authority in his field and no other book comes close" sock-puppety type.

    Hmmmm, will hold fire for now. For those of you too curious, I'll post the title in the Lounge - don't want to hurt the author's feelings by discovering it by mistake online!
