I occasionally write science fiction, as an alternative to my main genre. To try and separate the two facets of my writing, I use the pseudonym Allen H. David for SF. (There, that wasn't too bad a confession, was it?)

Mechanical Assistance, which I've just uploaded, is an example of the kind of thing I like to write in this alter ego. It's a "robot" story with a difference: both the robot and the main human character are female, and the robot is drawn sympathetically but not pathetically (and without a single mention of anyone's "Laws of Robotics"). I have also made an attempt to get inside the head of the mechanical woman, as a way of making her a little less 2-dimensional than the usual SF robot (or android, or whatever term you prefer).
