Stumbled upon this site while nlooking around for various piece of information on submission guidelines and the like; good to see a network of supportive band talented people.

Been doing the rounds of agencies for the last month or so, collecting rejection slips and generally feeling a bit weathered with regards to the whole posted.

So I've posted the opening three chapters - the stuff I've been sending out to agencies - for your comments, in the hope that you could perhaps offer some advice on what's going wrong.

Hi Thorn, you might get more response if you post a smaller chunk of work up- 19,000 words is asking an awful lot of people! a smaller chunk would be more manageable. Also, joining a WriteWords group would probably be a good idea- that was you'll both get and give feedback in a supportive place.

Yes I realised when I put it up there just how large a chunk it was. Unfortunately my current member status means I can't edit it down just at present.

thorn - let me know where you want to cut and I'll edit it down for you
