  • Help wanted!
by kitkat at 07:50 on 29 June 2006
    Hi,
I'm new to the forum and looking for some outside help!
I've just completed my first novel. Never taken a writers class (can't really afford them) and no formal qualifications. All I do have is enthusiasm for reading and I love taking a trip through the imagination of other people.
So here I am, displaying my imagination for all to see.
Please take a look at my first chapter and any advice/critism is most welcome.
    Many thanks
    kitkat

Hello, Kitkat and welcome to WW. It sounds as if you know your way around, so dive in, the water's lovely.

If you want sustained commenting the best things to do is to join a suitable group. You'll find you learn as much by reading and commenting on others' work as you do by their comments on yours.

There are quite a few WW members who are published, one way or another, and a bit of searching might throw up some suitable links.

    Emma

Sorry, meant to say, that last was answering your post on another thread, about the experience of trying to get published.

    Thank you Emma!
I'm really enjoying this site - I find it quite addictive.

Everyone's advice/critism is constructive and I think it's just what first time writers need to boost their confidence.

I was starting to get quite deflated at all the negative websites, basically saying how difficult being a writer is.

I realize it's hard work, but it's so enjoyable that I don't want to stop now!

Welcome kitkat. I like your honest and modest comments. You will find lots of people who will help you on WW.

I have never joined a Group for I write a wide variety of material although my favourite is the short story.

I love your reference to 'taking a trip through the imagination of other people' - that's a nice piece of creative writing!

By the way, your 'homepage' in your Profile. Look at the 'homepage' of other members and you'll see what this is all about.

Look forward to the trip through 'your imagination'.

    Len
