Half good news. My comedy script for the BBC comp, Two Timing was shortlisted but I'm not one of the chosen eleven who receive a workshop. Instead I get feedback and a fast track submission process. Don't know how many were in that cateogory but altogether there were 748 scripts submitted. So I can stop moaning now and work harder.
Being shortlisted is great Julie. It means that your script had that 'something'to catch their eye but as you say there are hundreds being submitted and the competition is fierce. Like haunted says, I'd be very pleased with myself just as you should be. Well done, and keep at it
Well done Julie!
Apparently they were giving feedback on up to 40 other scripts so that's really good going out of (I read) 816!!!
Plus, if you look at the calibre of the shortlisted candidates, there weren't many beginners in there. One had written Birds of a Feather and Crossroads (no,it's not comedy but it's telly!!)
Did you submit a radio or TV script?
Elspeth
ps I haven't heard anything -don't know if that's good or bad!
Thanks all. Elspeth, my letter said they were preparing the feedback and therefore was a delay in posting out all the letters. As you're in Paris it might take longer but they do say to email them if you haven't heard by the 10th.

Oh it was a telly script by the way, a sort of female Steptoe and Son, I'll post in in Film and TV, in a couple of days.
That's brilliant, Julie. I'm delighted for you. The feedback will no doubt be invaluable and fast-track submission means you'll avoid their version of the slush pile.
