    Hello everyone,
I've just joined as a full member and uploaded the first section of The Owl Woman. I'm afraid I was a couple of synapses short of a picnic at the time and didn't realise that you prefer to comment on unpublished work - this is my first novel and has been published. However I'd still be very grateful for your comments as I don't think it's perfect (even though I like it and it's 'out there'!), they will certainly help me improve the next novel :-0.

From my small experience of WW it seems a lively, sparky group with interesting work to read - although I haven't got far into that as yet. I'm very much looking forward to discussions.

Welcome to WW, Elen. It's always good to see new full members.

I haven't commented on The Owl Woman as, at around 2500 words, it's obviously just extracts (or have you just uploaded a new version which I haven't seen yet) but I would like to see some of your other work... a short story perhaps or the first chapter of a novel.

I'd also be interested to hear about your publishing experience... what are your views on Print-on-Demand? Why did you chose that route and are you happy with the results?

    Dee.

    Hello Dee,
Thank you for the welcome ... after the number of cock-ups I've managed since I arrived I need it! Yes, I managed to get that wrong too and gave you excerpts instead of full chapters ... sigh! I do learn fairly quickly if you can be patient with me :-). I've just uploaded the full first section of Owl Woman so you can get your teeth into it properly. I've also uploaded the first chapter and a bit of Land Singer, the sci-fi/fantasy novel I'm currently writing.

POD - my last publisher used it and it works a treat, even Amazon use it. The set-up costs to get a book on-line are less than £100 and the annual maintenance fee is only £10. No problems with o/p, mouldy rat-eaten paper, etc, and you don't get remaindered. I'd reccomend it.

Does anyone have experience of doing e-Books?

Hello Elen and welcome to WW. I really enjoyed looking at your website it had a very calming feel to it. I haven't read or commented on Owl Woman yet, but I did listen to an extract on your site, you have a lovely voice, is your background in drama?

Thank you Julie, I'm gald the site appeals, feedback is really helpful. Blush! Bow! tangle feet in skirts and fall flat on rear :-) ... it's very good to hear that you like my voice. And well spotted! I actually majored in Dance (Rdolph Laban Technique) but I also did drama. I've put up the full version of the first section of OW on the WW site now, so you don't suffer with extracts any more, and I'm about to do the same on the OW site.
