Hi all, I have uploaded a new very short film (just over 4 pages) which is a badly-written poem in French told by an American narrator. The French is very simple - honest!
If you read and don't understand or are just irritated that I have posted this PLEASE tell me!
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Elspeth,

Sorry for the delay, I was gong to reply last night but my son made his telly debut and I was too excited. I'm not irritated you posted it of course not, but my school girl French made for a bit of a struggle. Talk me through it - there is an American student living in Paris who has a crush on some French chap, she is introduced and they have a sort of flirtation, then she goes back to her class and writes about him then announces she's going back to the States? Sorry if that is completely off the track but please do tell me what is happening. I did like the atmosphere and setting but I'm not sure I really understood what was going on. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

    All the best

    Julie

Hi Jubbly, Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Sounds like your schoolgirl French isn't so bad after all! Basically she is reading the poem out in class and we are seeing it on the screen (hence the v.o.) I was just messing about with the rhyming in French and trying to make the piece as visual as possible. As an after thought i wanted to add some things about Franco-American relations ( you know, like the "Freedom fries" or the American's pouring away the French wine and I think there were some spectacular headlines in the UK press too but anyway, I haven't done it yet.
Congratulations for your son anyway - maybe you'll be able to give up work soon and become his manager. We'll have to start writing lots of things with 10-yr-old lead roles (i presume we're not talking about the baby here!!)
I hope he did you proud!
