Having forced myself awake to watch the game from working nights, I wandered down stairs to find my glasses and idly picked up my mail. On opening one letter, which I thought was junk, I found it to be otherwise, and stood as if I'd been slapped with a wet kipper.
My work, on a previous novel, has been accepted by an agent. I'd totally forgot about it as I was getting no where, and basically wrote it off. Instead I turned my attention to the novel I've uploaded for comments, and of which I'm writing the sequel.
I can be honest to say that I'm shaking and felt like bursting into tears. Let's just hope 'Ghost Walker' makes it all the way.

Fantastic news!Have you stopped shaking yet? Bet the match faded into insignificance after that start to the day!

Brilliant news Steve!
I know exactly how you feel and, believe me, you won't come back down to earth for quite a while yet. Make the most of it. Finding an agent is a huge step forward. It means someone else in the writing business, someone with experience and contacts, believes your work is publishable. It's exactly four weeks since I checked my emails and found one from an agent saying he wanted to represent me. I'm still reeling from the sudden change in my life. It has given me a confidence I didn't have before. I hope you feel the same and this continues to go well for you.
Presumably the next step will be to meet your agent. Make sure you let us know how it goes. Can you tell us who it is? Or do you not want to tempt fate until you sign up?
Congratulations and the very best of luck.
Dee.

Thanks all, and Dee, yeah, i'm not tempting fate but I wil say this in case no one knew: Black Cat Lit' is no longer perusing manuscripts, and another has taken their list.
And the game is keeping on the edge of my seat as well, ten minutes to Go!
