Hi everyone,
I would like to take a minute to introduce myself. I've been writing on and off all my life. Recently I have been writing more frequently, mainly poetry but also short stories and essays.
The majority of my work is dark and somewhat twisted. There are two reasons for this, firstly, I'm bipolar with a tendency to severe depression and secondly, I love anything darkly macabre and psychologically twisted. My favourite genres are horror, the supernatural and fantasy.
Having said that, I do on occasion, write lighter pieces but it all depends on my moods at the time of writing.
My favourite authors are Lovecraft, Blackwood and Poe. I have a penchant for war poetry, especially the works of Sassoon and Wilfred Owen.
I think I've garbed enough now, so it finally remains for me to say that I'm looking forward to my time here with you, which I hope will be long and fruitful.
Be safe

PS. I've posted my latest poem Goddess Aurora but am not happy with the second use of the word 'flare', which appears twice near the end. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate any comments. Thank you.
Hi Phillipa,
Welcome to WW. You might be interested in the following, sent to me by Jean, - this is an email she sent out to people who support her magazine, as I do.
'Have you ever had a friend who disappeared, and all you heard about him or her were rumors? My disappearing friend is named Fred Millard. Tall, slender, getting on in years, but not dead yet. Last I heard — and don’t depend on this — is that he’s in prison (again).
Well, there's one addition to the Will I Go Crazy? site this month (actually, this bimonthly period), and it’s some of the poetry and fiction of Fred Millard, bipolar prisoner. To reach “Millard”, click on the "Will I Go Crazy?" link (Look below for it), then on the link for “Millard”, right after "What's New?" (near the top of the site's home page).
Fred, I wouldn’t mind hearing from you again. I still live in Reno.

Most of her writers are bi-polar, they're not professional writers, but some of the work, [most being about the experience itself], is powerful, as it should be.
Becca.
Hi Becca,
I checked out 'Millard' and it's sure powerful. Wonderful stuff that punches you right in the face (metaphorically speaking). Thanks for the link.

Hi Philippa,
Spelt your name wrongly above. Jean is always on the lookout for new stories.
