I am JohnK and I did not take offence either! When I saw the reply I knew it did not mean me.
If the site owners, or founders, decide anything is happening that does not further the aims and/or spirit of the site, they are clearly at liberty to take action, in terms of cleaning up the site.
I hate flaming, and was sad to see it appear in WW. I feel it is the written equivalent of road rage, and almost as lamentable.
I am against a ballot, partly because I would hate to have my web site controlled by anyone else but me. WW is such an excellent and useful creation its direction and style has to be controlled by as small a committee as possible, to keep it on track.
WW is growing nicely, and needs pruning. I did not complain on this occasion, but I think we should, whenever the WW concept and operation is threatened.
I'm with you all the way John. Committees, ballots etc are excellent in theory but problems can arise, especially since we're not necessarily in full possession of the facts. I'm more than happy to trust the site owners to deal with any problems at their discretion. We all want WW to be a safe place.
