Hilary's short story 'Zooming In' was published in Mslexia, issue 19. The guest editor was Louise Welsh who said about Hilary's work 'The traditional strong plotting demanded by the genre, (crime fiction), often resulted in good submissions marred by torturous twists in the tale. Hilary Custance's humorous 'Zooming In' showed it can be done. Her final sting was impossible to resist.' Congratulations Hilary, don't spend the money wisely!

Hi folks, thanks for the support. No, it is not in the archives. An earlier draft with a different title was there and, having profited from the feedback, I deleted it some time ago. If anyone is that keen, I can email it, but I can't publish on the site.

Thanks John and Tabitha, these moments do the ego a great service, though why it should be the piece that feels most amateur that gets selected, makes one query one's judgement. (A lot of distancing 'one's there.)

Just in case anyone is mislead, I should meantion that Mslexia don't pay these days. So you have to be content with the exposure (I am, I am).
