Yes, it would be an interesting difference because you were there and I was not. I'm reading Caregan's 'The Storyteller' at the moment, on this site, and the main character there creates whole worlds for the people she sees in the lane, which would be one angle for a story from my side, a woman going along with a man's memory of having been somewhere with her, when it was never so. What would be her motive though?
-
Good grief, you're an early riser - or late bedder. The motiveis yours to chose. You clearly have a gift for dark tales of obsession; that would give several possibilities. Must go to work. Bugger!
Best,
Mike

Early riser. I'll ruminate on the idea. How awful to be working on a Saturday.
-
OK Mike, I've taken up the challenge and am writing my Salsa story. Are you writing yours?
-
Well, suppose I'd better give it a crack. Am v busy through the week, but will see what I can do at the weekend.
Best,
Mike

Oh, I'm dying to see what these come out like. What a lovely idea- keep the forum posted when you...post.

Never one to be too proud to jump on the preverbial band wagon, greetings and salutations! I myself joined today and find this site not only extremely useful but rather fun!! I am completely green as far as professional writing is concerned but have spent many years concocting things for family and friends. It has also come in useful being a keen amatuer actress and playwright.
Comedy comes easily to me on the stage with ad lib and so I have decided to swallow my pride and step into the literary footlights!
Please feel free to reassure me with tales of your first "outing" and confidence swelling titbits of advice for one desparate to have a voice worth listening to.
Please take pity on a young woman who is never tired of her own voice but rather eager to have others listen.

Welcome, Katy-Jane!
You'll find the criticism here very friendly, honest and positive. So, upload something and brace yourself for a barracking. (Poor joke) The site is almost too much fun; I'm already having to limit the time I spend here, even though I've only been a member for a liitle under a fortnight, because once 'on' it's very hard to drag yourself away.
Best,
Mike

Hello..
-
Mike, any move on the Salsa story? Mine is as ready as I can get it.
-
Hi Becca,
Mine has turned into a (rather naff) poem; will try to post this aft, as I actually have a day 'off' from the 'real' world! Don't know about you, but if I had\five pairs of hands I might actually get everything that I want to write written!
Best,
Mike

Hi Becca,
I blush to say that I have uploaded some melodramatic versifying on to my profile page, not wishing to insult the poetry group with such effluvium, which goes by the name of Salsa at Midnight. Feel free to deride! I will at some point try to do something more 'serious', because the idea is very interesting, but apart from me plays, I can't seem to scribble anything other that poetry at the moment. I look forward enormously to reading your piece and finding the project has been redeemed!
Best,
Mike

OK, Mike, I'll upload tonight or tomorrow, I've got a day off from the other world as well tomorrow, it'll be on Short Story 1.

Hello again mike
Now I'm a new member saying hello - we spoke outside the Calder bookshop after Poe Pourri & I said my name was Sally; Peter Marinker tells me he has emailed you my 2 scripts 'Limehouse' (about an Actor whom you might be suitable as) and 'A Suitable Lover' which I am interested in having read at the Calder: I saw an actor(Michael Howard?) in Lady Chatterley last night who might be right for the 60-ish Paul. Peter said you are up & down to Edinburgh at the moment, but do let me know if you want to get in touch.

same as others I to am a new member having logged on yesterday, who would like to know how it works, thinking that I might need help, in some sort of way. Hello to all, have a good day.
