Here is the first part of chapter one of my new version of STANDING AT THE END OF THE WORLD.

Chapter One, part one

I first submitted the beginning of this story over a year ago, since then it’s been rejected by several agents, hacked to pieces by a book doctor, and rebuilt.

Note that this is only the first half of chapter one.

I would be most grateful for any criticism you care to give, and please don’t be gentle, you’re the last line of defence between me and the big bad world, and I don’t want to take a literary stroll out there with my pants round my ankles!
