  • Can I do this?

    Hi folks,
I just wanted to run something past the site owner or moderators.

I'm an Internet Marketer (I make my living online) and I really want to improve my writing style. At the moment I think my writing stinks but I believe the critique of professional writers could really help.

The only problem is that I don't want to post my work directly on this site. Now that's not because I don't trust the members but because of the possible consciquences as they relate to search engine rankings. I don't want to blind people with techno babble but basically put search engines will list a website lower in their search results if it contains duplicate content. By posting here and on my own website I'll be hosting duplicate content and my website ranking could suffer.

Would it be okay for me to post a link instead of adding my articles to this site? (I'd only add the content to a blank page with no ads so it's not me trying to get my site seen, lol)

    Thanks

    John

    John, welcome to WW.

I’m afraid the majority of us on here are not professional writers. Most of us, however, are serious about our writing and we do critique each other’s work. It’s a two-way process, and everyone who reads both the work and the feedback can gain some benefit. That’s why the normal process is to post work onto the site.

You needn’t worry about search engines. There is an option to make your posting visible to members only. It won’t be visible to the search engines so it won’t affect your rankings.

    Hey,

    Welcome to the site.

Have you had the chance to post anything up yet?

I look forward to reading some of your work.
