I feel a bit cheeky asking for feedback on my work, as I've only just joined, and I've only made one comment on someone else's work to date - but that's because A) every time I want to say something, someone has already said it; and B) I'm supposed to be emulsioning the living room right now, and will be in Big Trouble if hard-working husband catches me skiving. But I promise I'll be in there as soon as I can.

Anyway... if you happen to have a spare moment, please have a look at the Prologue and (short) opening scenes of my first novel, No Mystics. You'll find it under the Fiction heading (uploaded 22/2/05). My general idea is that I will eventually upload the whole novel, but at 2000 words a shot, that could take some time, as it's 168000 words. Be very afraid... this is only my first novel. I've got another four to bore you with.... Well, three and a half, actually, as one is much too episodic and really should have its important bits incorporated into its predecessor. No Mystics is the only one to have 'done the rounds' of agents and publishers ('Not what publishers are looking for', but because it's the first of a series, I've never tried with the others, even though they could stand alone. Which is a bit obsessive, I suppose. But since No Mystics is about obsession, maybe that's no bad thing.

I've had a quick look at it but I'm in the middle of an edit at the moment which I have to finish this weekend. I will read your chapter as soon as I can though, because I loved the opening scene.

Don't worry about repeating comments others have made. It often helps the writer decide whether to change something or leave it as it is.
