Nell, I’ve just finished reading The Golden Web.
Sometimes, when I’m reading a novel, I want to race through to find out how it ends. Other times I want to savour it, page by page, not wanting to reach the end. The Golden Web falls into the second category. I’ve stretched it out as long as I could but, sadly, I’ve finished.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, loved the characters and, if there is a sequel, I can’t wait. Why aren’t you letting us see any of it???

I loved it, too. I just wallowed in it. Beautiful book!

You have both prompted me into buying this. I have read 'Solitary Pleasures' and meant to buy 'The Golden Web'. I must do it immediately!
Thanks.

Yes, yes, you won't regret it!

I agree - The Golden Web is an utterly superb read and you will be blown away when you read it. It's rare that I give something a 5 star review on Amazon, but I did with that one. It's fantastic - sequel soon, please, Nell (no pressure, then!!)!!!!

Goodness, I'm offline for a while and come back to a complimentary thread! Dee, Ani, Joanie and Anne - thank you all for the kind words. Dee, re. the sequel - it's a complex many-layered creation that won't be in any shape for critting until it's just about finished, and even then it may be necessary to read over a period of days rather than months. I'm constantly changing and adding to earlier parts of the narrative, and even when the first draft is complete I think the narrator's voice will need a lot of work. But I'm very glad (and relieved!) that you enjoyed The Golden Web, especially as you're knowledgeable about the pagan aspects of the story.

Nell, I thought the pagan aspects were particularly strong.
I remember, many years ago, spiral dancing with about a hundred others, chanting.
We are an old people, we are a new people,
We are the same people, stronger than before.
It was an amazing experience.

Dee, I'm glad you thought the pagan aspects strong, and I've always thought those lines resonant with memory, almost as if one knew them from some past life.
