I've been awol for a few weeks, mainly because I was struggling with the introduction of a character I'm uneasy with. The story so far is that it is 1909 and Corrigan, a soldier discharged because of severe wounds, has arrived to take up a job with his old commanding officer who's life he saved on campaign. Having arrived, he promptly argues with one housemaid and accidently scares the daylights out of a second, which results in his being attacked by Simon, one of the two characters in this scene. As I say, I was uneasy about how to portray Simon, as he began as just a comic book villain, but I wanted to make more of him. I was going nuts chopping and changing him, so in the end I just put up the latest version and let anyone who wants to have a go at me.

I've also been neglecting my duties towards the rest of you. I hope to put that right over then next week or two.
