    The story continues.

Some years have passsed now, and David is a member of the academic staff at the University of York.

You can find the latest instalment at Philip Truman : Part One

    Thanks

Tried to comment, Jumbo, but unable to access.

I have never quite accepted the 'Show not tell' dictum but I must admit that I would have welcomed some other 'voice' entering your Chapter. You write with clarity and authority and what you write is interesting and well-constructed. I appreciate that you are portraying a very isolated and lonely spirit but I found the single voice of the Chapter dragged a little.

Thanks for this - and thanks for reading. I wonder why your comments couldn't be added to the piece? Very strange.

Thanks for the point about the single voice. I was hoing to use absence of other characters to emphasise the trauma that David is going through - although, of course, I hadn't wanted that make the piece drag!

But I am, as always, grateful for your comments, and I'll have another look with those in mind.

    All the best

    Jumbo,

I have solved the access problem - according to David this sometimes happens. However what is important is that attention can now be drawn to your 'Part One'. There are usually far more 'hits' than comments on this Forum and some of these 'hits' do find their way to your story site with comments made after reading.

What I say to is that if any Member wishes to read interesting and well-constructed work, they could do little better than to read your stuff. If this is called 'plugging' then so be it.

You are very kind - thank you very much!

It seems that you are the only one to have read and commented on this - and that makes your feedback all the more valuable!

    Thanks again

    Jumbo,

That's just what I mean! It sometimes seems to me that 'good writing' so often goes unread and certainly without comments. This is a pity since we all hope to improve through WW and your work is always of a high standard. Jumbo this is not 'kindness' it is a statement of fact.
