  • Changing Mind & Feeling Heart
by luap at 08:39 on 30 July 2004
Throuought our lives there is constant change and there is a no escape route out of this one, what we feel in our hearts is so different from our own day to day thinking of our daily thoughts .
When we use are heart to think we are getting in touch with our true self where as the thinking we do with our mind tends to come from our analytical self. Our physical heart is the source of our total physical life and if our heart is not beating a steady rhythm then our life is not a fulfilling one.
When we think too much with our analytical mind there can be many problems like too much thinking and not enough doing, our analytical mind wants to constantly dissect our inner worlds where our real true feelings reside.
In today’s modern world I would say 80% of people think too analytical that is try to dissect the world with all its complexity whereas the other 20% are the true heart thinkers who just let the world be and come from the heart centre which is a feeling rather that a thinking mode.
A lot of people talk of gut feelings , I feel that these are our true heart feelings and whenever we get them we should not hesitate to act on them and trust that is my own soul trying to tell me something , and if we hesitate that moment is then lost and the analytical mind then begins to question .
It’s all to do with our habitual thinking patterns and to change them we have to change the way we think. A thought is the very first step towards an action and if that thought has doubts then maybe that action will not be accurate enough for my well being and of those around me.
As I mentioned earlier change is inevitable in life and if I am not prepared to change then circumstances around me may force me to change, we do have a choice in our thinking and acting. What the mind wants and what the heart desires are like two separate beings, on one hand we say yes I know what I want to do with my life and on the other the heart desires something else and this is where the great confusion comes and indecision takes its place.
Not being able to decide(discriminate) what it is from life I want troubles many people today because of our inability to get in touch with the true part of my being and knowing from that what I want.
I feel the heart is the key which leads us to find our own passions in life and what we truly believe in and where we want to be in life. This takes a good deal of practice because to come out of our analytical mind takes time as we have been so conditioned and fallen into habitual thinking patterns .
    More thoughts later…………………..

Bit preachy mate! Is this work or your own thoughts you are trying to impose? I am confused.

Hmmm… not sure what you’re getting at here. If this is a piece of your own work you should post it in the archive and invite comments.

If you want to open a discussion on this subject then fair enough but it does come across as a bit of tub-thumping… as does your other thread.

While we sometimes go off on a tangent, we are a writing-based community and that is what most of us are interested in and what the majority of our discussion threads are about. I don’t see you inviting a discussion or, indeed, feedback of any kind here…

    Perhaps you could clarify…

    hi dave ,
Yes these are my own thoughts or as i like to say from my higher self, i dont think its preachy at all as i am not telling anyone how they should be i am trying to say how most of the world thinks from their heads and not their hearts.
    With all Good Heartfelt thoughts
    Paul.

    Paul,

I would disagree with a number of the points you make; these may apply to you as an individual but certainly they cannot be stated as being universal. I feel that you are confusing yourself through the hypothesis that emotive reaction and thought emerges from the heart while practical thought and action are the result of what you call analytical thinking from the brain.

However I must agree with the others and I cannot see why you have placed this quasi-philosophical diatribe onto the Forum. If you have a point to make then please make it... if you need help than I am sure there are Members who would respond; however they need to have your questions or comments clearly stated by you.

    Dear Dee,

I just signed up as a free member to see what kind of response I would get .
I come from a spiritual background in my writing and as there are no groups promoting spiritual writing of any kind i thought i would just post a couple of my pieces.
I have written to the main person about starting a writers group for spiritual articles.
I will post them on the forums if I am allowed.
    With all Good Wishes,
    Paul

80% of the statements that are made about how people think are so sweeping in their generalisations as to be almost meaningless.

There is no ultimate truth, or perceived law, on how we think. There are only hypotheses such as yours.

You may be from a spiritual background. I am from a legal / scientific one. As far as I am aware, the heart does not think. That is the remit of the brain (or the mind).

There is nothing wrong with logical thinking - and there is nothing wrong with decisions made because of gut feelings - where logic cannot supply or support the decision taken.

Both have their place, their application in the game of survival that some call life.

Which mode of decision making (or thinking) you choose might depend on many factors, for example the circumstances in which you find yourself, why the decision is required or, maybe, what we seek as an end result. Is this a personal decision or will it effect the bottom line of some international corporation?

Perhaps there is no right or wrong way to think.

But maybe it would be wrong to think you can impose your thinking on other people.

    Good luck with your writing.

My immediate response to the 80% comment is that your thinking is totally incorrect. More people need to think analytically (and about 80% of people lack the capacity to do this properly), rather than with easilly swayed 'hearts' that are quick to judge, effortlessly manipulated and almost invariably biased.

This world is on the verge of total collapse, and all the wishy-washy numpty dream-thinking the 6 billion rabid twits littering this crumbling rock can muster won't save it.

Ah statistics - aren't they just great when you simply...make 'em up!

I reckon 80% of that is bullshit, 15% dubious, 2.5% dull and the rest...

okay that's a bit harsh. Soz luap. Now what do you think of the fact that whatever is philosophically right or wrong, the people currently in power across the world are doing their very best to ruin it, ending in the mass extinction of the human race in the next few hundred years. Therefore, we are on the brink of a struggle between those who want to preserve, move on and save our sorry asses and those who want to suppress the masses and cut off as fat a profit for them and theirs as is possible.

Now, this is about 50-50 at the mo', so I suggest we choose sides now.

Bagsy being on the goodies (i.e. saving the world and all that, all you damn cynics out there)...

Right, I'll get my cheap cheap denim jacket and leave. (it's cool though - wrangler, but got it in a charity shop for 7 quid. Bargain.)

    Love n' statistics
