I think I am lost!!!!!!!

I have uploaded a piece of work TO Bear the Unbearable for member comments but it has gone into Archive. Surely it should be here. Help anyone

Hi Ruth & welcome.
You need to join one of the writing groups first, and then when you upload your work you will have the facility to select that forum for your work to be posted into (may take a day or so before your application to join has been cleared). Tere are a number of forums depending on your genre or level of experience - although it's often useful just to check how active that group is before joining. This forum is just for saying hi and including a few lines about your work, and maybe posting a link to the work in your achive or whichever group you've joined.

Don’t like to contradict Naomi, but that’s not strictly true. You’ve uploaded your work into the general archive. Click on the tab called Archive towards the top left of this page, and there it is in the right hand column. Alternatively, go to your profile (‘view profile’ in the top right hand corner) and click on ‘work’. That shows you all the work you have on the site visible to other members (you can also upload work to be visible to yourself only, which is a good way to back up stuff – but never rely on it alone).

If you join a group and upload work to the group archive you can make it visible to all members or group members only – but that narrows down the likely number of responses you'll get.

I think we just read ruth's question differently, Dee. I assumed she was trying to upload it onto the Introduce Your Work Forum, as opposed to setting up a link to it in her archive.

To find it, go to your Profile, then to Work and you'll see a list of the things you've uploaded. Click on the one you want, copy the address and post a link

ie: http://www.writewords.org.uk/archive/19220.asp

or you can type the title, then use the link icon above and get a clever link, ie : To Bear the Unbearable

A note, like you've already done, in the Introduce Your Work forum is probably the best place to let other members know. Groups can be slow or overlooked.
