  • My writing project

    Hi Everybody,

How's it going? I've just recently launched a new writing project and I would be extremely grateful if anybody were able to give me their opinion/advice on what I'm doing.

The basic idea is that I have set up a website at http://www.iwantaword.com through which I am looking for 10,000 people to each contribute a single word of their choice. When all 10,00 words have been submitted I plan to add a few more of my own to creat a single, coherent story which I will then give away for free on the website (though I am asking people to pay £1 to contribute a word).

So, really, I was just curious to know what other writers out there might think of the idea. Doomed to failure? A certain success? I'd love to know what you think. And perhaps even more, if anyone has done anything similar I'd love to hear any advice you might have. Potential pitfalls, things to avoid, or anything else.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Doomed to failure - unless you plan to donate the money to charity.

So… let me get this right. You stand to gain £10k? hmmm… what do your 10,000 contributors get? An acknowledgement for one word? Hardly something to add to the CV, I think. Hardly worth £1.00 each.

Yes, difficult to see what the contributors get out of it.
