I still feel like the new kid here, it's very exciting but i'm non too sure of the protocol. This is just to say i've popped up my second peice for anyone who's interested. I'm only announcing this because i realise i'm not really recognised around these parts. Once i feel at home i promise i won't announce something so trivial again.
Thanks,
Matt

I wouldn't worry so much. There is no agreed etiquette around announcing work, and even the most well-known and respected members still regularly announce new works.

please do introduce your work -- since some of us are logged in under poetry-only, or some other speciality, in the writer's archive, seeing the posts for new fiction work in the forum is one of the ways we can keep an eye out for work outside of our own genre to have a look at.
... off to read yours.
Thanks,
Smith

Matthew, don’t apologise for introducing your work. That’s what the ‘introduce your work’ forum is for. We all do it to alert other members to the fact that we have uploaded work. And don’t – don’t – call your own work trivial. It isn’t. It’s good.
Write on!
Dee.
