    Hi there,

I'm hoping for a bit of input on some aspects of a project I've been mulling for a while. The story inhabits two periods, the late Iron Age in Britain, just before the Conquest, and modern times. It is a love story mostly, but the love concerned is ill-starred and ruinous, its lack of true consummation wreaking havoc among the innocent across the centuries.

If this sort of thing interests you I'd welcome your comments and suggestions.

    Cheers

    Hi, Redcoat,

Why don't you join the Historical Fiction group? We've been a bit inactive recently, but a new member would be soooo exciting.

Well thats a kind invitation. I suppose this is in part a historical story. Actually the Iron Age setting originated in a desire to find a thinly documented period in which one might write imaginatively, but of course the more I've thought about it the more I've become interested in authenticity. At the moment there is not much more than a 'Time Team' level of knowledge on display but I aim to deepen the contextual feeling in respect of the historical section, and get my modern characters involved in some archeology, so I'd better get it right. My latest idea is to incorporate some of the culture shock of the Roman invasion into the plot, and I'd definitely need to get that right!

So, if you think it would benefit the group I'd be happy to come aboard.
