  • Help with a short story!
    by Sue H at 13:01 on 14 March 2004
Just uploaded a short story ("short story") that I've been having trouble with. It's not the story I set out to write and it's too long. Any comments appreciated. Go on, be honest!!

    Hey Sue,

Which one of your stories is the latest one? My archive list in pre-set for poetry and I don't know how to go back to the list of stories recently uploaded, so I cannot tell which one.

It's down as "short story". Imaginative eh? It will have a title one day, honest!

I read this and it is good.
Not as a short story but a longer version.

I did put my comments up, hope you read them.
I see a lot of potential here.
Loved the story line and thats what i look at.
No story line, no plot no book.

You got it all. Bit more polish, more work and
    WHOOOOOOOO....OOO

    Alice,
Thanks for your comments. A longer story it is going to be. I had the idea for this months ago and I just could not get it right. I think it's impossible to get across in 1000 words so I'm not going to try. In a way too bad - the £1,000 prize money should I have won would have been damned useful!!!

Hang on! So that's one book that's "finished" but needs a big, big edit. Another short story (for grown ups!) that I've started, the second book - 3 chapters in and now this! Oh yes, and 8 year old daughter, staggeringly old cat, him indoors and two part time jobs. A life? Who needs it?
